The traffic service
The traffic service, based in Beckum (additional forces at the Warendorf site), is primarily responsible for monitoring road traffic. The aim: to prevent traffic accidents. Traffic control measures are also part of the traffic service's remit. The colleagues also specialize in monitoring heavy goods vehicles and special traffic as well as speed monitoring using special technology.
Traffic accident prevention
Associated with the traffic service is the traffic accident prevention department with staff at the Beckum and Warendorf locations. The focus here is on road safety advice for various target groups such as senior citizens, adults, young adults (18 to 24-year-olds), young people (15 to 17-year-olds), children in elementary school and kindergartens, and the traffic puppet stage is used in particular for work with kindergarten children. In addition to other problem-oriented measures, there are various special campaigns such as the state project Crash Course NRW, which is implemented by the employees.
The traffic commissioner's office
The areas of responsibility of the traffic commissioner's office include the processing of traffic accidents as well as the processing of other criminal offenses and misdemeanor reports in connection with road traffic. The traffic commissioner's office of the Warendorf police station is based at the Oelde police station and processes the various areas of responsibility throughout the district from there.
