The press and public relations work of the North Rhine-Westphalian police makes an active contribution to an open flow of information. To ensure successful press and media work, the police have set up press and specialist public relations offices throughout the state.

In the Warendorf district police authority, the press and public relations department reports directly to the district administrator.

Press and public relations

As members of the press and public relations team, we establish, maintain and cultivate contacts with local and non-local media representatives and other people or institutions associated with the police. We write press releases, provide sound bites for TV and radio, evaluate media reports and act as a mouthpiece for the Warendorf police station. We also answer inquiries from local and national media representatives on police-related topics and establish contact with individual departments or employees.

Every year, we produce an annual report containing all the information about the police in the Warendorf district. We prepare press conferences in which, for example, the annual statistics of the Warendorf district police authority are presented by our head of authority.

Press and public relations work often overlap. In addition to our daily tasks as press spokespersons, we also take care of the coordination of high-profile events (such as the Police Day), maintenance of the Warendorf District Police Authority's internet and intranet presence, coordination of support for visitor groups, information brochures, posters, the further development of our Facebook, Instagram and X pages and much more.
