(um) Yesterday (25.07.), in the late afternoon at 17:55, a 29-year-old man was riding his pedelec on Osterkamp in the direction of Holser Straße. At the time of the accident, the man from Bünde turned left onto the combined cycle/pedestrian path. At the same time, a 48-year-old woman came towards him on her pedelec. The man had to ride over a lowered kerb. At this moment, the tire of his Focus Aventura 2 burst and both people fell. Fortunately, the woman and the man only suffered minor injuries. An ambulance arrived at the scene and was not called. In this context, the police would like to point out once again that you should pay attention to the traffic area when driving. There can always be a pothole. Stones or branches can remain on cycle paths due to weather conditions. These trip hazards are very dangerous for cyclists and pedelec riders. When riding in a convoy, make sure you keep a sufficient distance, as the cyclist in front can always brake suddenly. This way you can enjoy the summer on two wheels and arrive at your destination relaxed.
